Gosling’s Black Seal combines rums from both pot and continuous column stills. The name comes from the black wax that was originally used to seal the bottles, but now there’s an actual black seal on the label. The iconic rum has been produced in Bermuda since 1806, which is a pretty long time. "If you're doing something right, don't fix it" and all that... You’d be a fool not to serve this in a Dark ‘n’ Stormy, as the cocktail is actually trademarked by the Gosling brothers.

This was the drink that made me a life-long rum aficionado after I was introduced to it when we lived in Bermuda. An excellent drink with a fiery ginger beer (to make the famous "Dark & Stormy") or with in a cocktail of fruit juices, ice and a few drops of angostura bitter ("rum swizzle")! Great to see that it is available in UK!
The only rum that makes a true Dark n Stormy, have sold it for 26 years and now will be serving them at my next port of call
I love dark rum so when I saw it recently appeared on the shelf at my local liquor store I decided to try it. First of all I drink spirits over ice or straight up as a general rule. And the taste of this one considerably surprised me. I wasn't sure at first if I want a second drink it was that different. Then as different tastes often do and I of course tried it again it started to grow on me and I'm loving the variation of spicy flavours that's quite different to the usual dark rum on the shelf. I've no doubt it's to be a favourite late night chilly weather drink because it's performed rather well on hot humid nights already. Definitely give it a try if you like the "taste" of rum giving your mouth a wallop!
Great with just ice, nearly as good as Tanduay and just as hard to buy if youre not in a city, 9/10
