Gold of Mauritius matures in South African fortified wine barrels and is then blended in small batches. Well balanced with sweet, chocolatey notes, tropical fruit and savoury touches of oak.

Had a sample of this in a mix of miniatures and was delighted

I got slight orange and caramel notes and very smooth, drink over ice

I was here to find the price and am very pleased to find it’s one I can afford!

Good but for £40 there is a lot of better alternatives
For an immature young smooth rum with vanilla and nutmeg prominent it's good don't get me wrong but for £40 you would 100% be far far better putting that £40 to a 12 year Appelton, or a 12 year rum 66, or a 12 year flor de cana or a gosslings or a bottle of 20th anniversary Barbados or my rum of the moment a 12 year Doorleys but what do I know I'm just rum Connoisseur lol

You'll not be disappointed
By far the most outstanding rum on the market. I love the caramel notes and smoothness and I always drink it neat. I'm not a connoisseur by any means but I am a huge fan. Warning. You might love it so much that it becomes a regular purchase.

One of my fave rums 9/10
I bought this blindly as there is no trial size bottles at the time of writing so I went on rep alone and wow, was I surprised how smooth & tasty this rum is, I was expecting a lot of ethanol burn with such an immature rum but its way smooth with vanilla and chocolate the most prominent on my pallet and will defo buy again 100%.

One of the best of the best
As a Rum drinker, I found this smooth. With fine flavour. A most plesent Rum to sit back & Enjoy in the evening before bed time in front of a nice log fire.

Very hard to beat.
Drunk it neat to experience its majestic
and mysterious aura."The dark side of the Force."Drank it one lazy afternoon on a secluded beach in Isle Maurice.It was a veritable tsunami os sensation on the tastebuds!

Need to leave 1/2 star for the 5 year
A very tasty rum, tastes a little to young for me. The 5 year barrel matured with the same name cost a few rupies more but absolutely my winner.

Having a Rum evening with some friends and the Gold of Mauritius was so good. Very smooth and rich flavours. The Pyrat XO i drank after suddenly seemed very ordinary.
