Mapmaker’s Rum is a brand created in tribute to Timothy Pont, a 17th-century cartographer who surveyed Scotland. It's made by Dunnet Bay Distillery, which is next to the Dunnet Parish Church where a commemorative plaque to Pont is located. The rum itself is made up of rum distilled by Dunnet Bay which is blended with Caribbean rum and Loch Calder water, then spiced with local botanicals including lemon verbena, scurvy grass, sea kelp, and Scottish sea salt.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Plenty of salinity as well as creamy banana, vanilla, toffee, and citrus.
