This is the first barrel-matured rum to join the core range from English distillery DropWorks! Distilled from scratch after fermentation using DropWorks' signature trinity yeast, the rum then matured in a variety of casks, including custom hybrids combining American and Portuguese oak for added complexity.
Once tried a wildcard Philippines rum in a Christmas rum calendar. This has tied that, for me, as the most undrinkable rum 'proper' rum. As a whisky or Armagnac drinker - you might like it? It is smooth and has some interesting tastes. Despite the name, and packaging looking immediately suspicious, I wanted to support a new British company. My biggest conundrum is whether to return it to the shop as a demonstration of how bad it is, or simply pour it into the drain. Not one is pass to a friend to try. It's put me off my wildcard rhum journey for a while.
I bought this for Christmas for my husband, usually a whisky drinker but I wanted to mix it up. He loved it and we finished it by new years!
