Doorly's 14 Year Old

Another fabulous release from the Doorly's rum range! Doorly's 14 Year Old is a blend of pot and column still rum produced at the Foursquare distillery in Barbados. The spirit has been aged predominantly in bourbon casks, along with a portion aged in Madeira casks, imparting a touch of sweetness.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Loads of spices straight off the bat, namely ginger and oak, fading into Madeira sweetness and dark chocolate orange, along with jammy berries. Spices reappear on the finish with the addition of cinnamon, and a touch of char.

Fantastic
All Foursquare rum is very good, this is fantastic, only battered by ECS releases! Buy yourself a bottle and find out what rum should taste like…

Rubbish
I found this rum very disappointing but hey that’s just my opinion. Other people might like it but not for me

Very very good!
Incredible value, purchased as a malternative to my usual whisky. Has a lot of depth yet incredibly easy to drink coming from higher proof whiskies. Must have if you're into rum!

Really rather good
Smell is perhaps a little subtle for Foursquare, but what is there is rich, chocolatey and slightly sweet. Perhaps it's the marsala coming through.
Taste has more body, depth and character than RL Seale, and is much less sweet, and more complex, than Doorlys 12. Instead, it offers a good integration of sugar and oak, pot and column, richly satisfying and well balanced.
One of the most immediately satisfying rums I've tried, and I would say would hold it's own against Hampden 8YO and El Dorado 15
