Devon Rum Co.'s Spiced Rum is made with a blend of pot and column still rums from Jamaica and Guyana, which is brought down to bottling strength with spring water from the eponymous south west county. Following that, a selection of spices and citrus zest are infused in the spirit, imparting soft sweetness and toasty warmth.
Star anise, orange peel, baking spices and cinder toffee.
Brown sugar, chicory, tropical fruit and caraway. Estery hints of banana fritters in the background.
Another helping of anise and banana.
I chose the bottle as i live near Devon and hadn't heard of the brand. the taste was not too bad, but there is a little too much alcohol/ethanol burn on the finish for this to be a sipping rum, worked better with a mixer- but for the price you'd expect a better sipping rum. would only buy again if the price was cheaper

Just received (and nearly finished) our first bottle of Devon Rum. Unique blend of spices and flavour, lovely taste of cinnamon and star anise. Enjoy.
This is a really smooth spiced rum which is genuinely good as a neat sipping rum or as the base for a longer rum/lime/sugar or rum/ginger /lime drink. I find that most spiced rum has a fairly early point beyond which you cannot go .... this, on the other hand, doesn't. Highly recommended!
