This Rhum Vieux Agricole from Depaz was distilled in Martinique (using pressed sugar cane juice rather than molasses) and aged for a least three years before it was bottled at 45% ABV.
Dried coconut, creamy vanilla and youthful oak lead with exotic fruit and spice in the backdrop.

Utterly delicious. My new favourite. The rum agricoles seem to have a herbaceous edge which makes them stand out. Arcane Extraroma is amazing too but I think the spicy nuttiness of this one makes it stand out. Makes your eyes open wider every time you sip it. For heaven's sake don't waste it in a cocktail
I'm not gonna lie. I should have sprung for the VSOP. But this is still a great rhum agricole to use in high-end cocktails.
