Diablesse Clementine Rum

From Manchester-based Diablesse comes a Clementine Spiced Rum! It's made with Demerara rum from the Diamond Distillery in Guyana, using native sugar cane molasses and traditional pot and column still distillation. It's then naturally flavoured with clementine and a warm spice mix inspired by the Caribbean containing vanilla, ginger, cinnamon, star anise and clove.

Tasting Note by The Producer

Nose Gingerbread, toasted cinnamon, clementine zest.

Palate Toffee apple, clementine zest – balances cooked sugar.

Finish Warm pimento, sticky gingerbread, sweetness balanced by ‘zestiness’: fresh, bright, vibrant, natural, soft warm spice.

Christmas Essential
Can’t get through Christmas without this. It goes into the cake, the mulled wine and into me! Pairs wonderfully with Fever Tree spiced orange ginger ale.

Rather nice addition to my fledgling selection of rums, best enjoyed over ice, the Clementine cuts through cleanly adding to the complexity of the layers of favours, mixes well with diet Pepsi and also cream soda

Christmas in a glass.
Lovely with Fever Tree spiced orange Ginger Ale. Fab in cooking too , fruit cakes., mince pies etc. Mix with cider and ginger ale for a killer rum punch, hot or cold.

Quite a nice surprise!
I received a sample sized bottle of this in this year's (2021) MoM Advent Calendar. It has a scent, in my opinion, that is similar to but less powerful than Rumbullion! The most predominant scent would be cola.

I tried it mixed with some extra spicy Ginger Beer, and the result was a very drinkable beverage. It's about the same price as Rumbullion! and has a similar flavour, so you really can't go wrong.

My favourite rum
I received a bottle of this from the Craft Rum Club a few months ago. Since then it has firmly taken the top spot that is my favourite rum and is one of the nicest I've had from the club so far.
Absolutely delicious, the spices and clementine come through nicely.
Amazing straight, but also mixes well with normal ginger ale as well as Fever Tree's Spiced Orange ginger ale.
Highly recommended.

On the sweetish side, as expected, but dangerously moreish! Nothing artificial tasting about it.
