Powerfully smoky rum from the Cut Rum range. Made with a base of Jamaican rum and smoked using oak chips, this will stand out in cocktails and might make for an intriguing alternative postprandial tipples for people with a penchant for peaty whisky.
Struck match, coffee bean bitterness balanced by vanilla.

It starts off really good, until you read the comment below regarding an ashtray ??♂️ Then it resembles that stale pub smell/taste of the 1990’s. If they can make it more BBQ smoky ghen it would be amazing!
Like drinking liquid caramel by a camp fire with vanilla on top. As others have said, if you don’t care for pleated whiskey it’s probably worth giving it a swerve. I love it!
After the initial balk at the taste of the smoke, I proceeded to serve with orange and ginger beer. What a transformation. The taste is almost whisky-like, and could be great as the basis for an old fashioned. I'd recommend this, but persevere with it.
If you've ever wanted a rum that tastes like someone has tipped an ashtray in your drink, this is for you. Apparently this rum is smoked with oak chips, but it smells and tastes like it was smoked with cigarettes.
An amazing tasting rum, the smoke isn't anywhere near as heavy as some make it out to be (I am a non smoker) and the vanilla sweetness back notes balance the smoke into an almost mellow honey. rate highly
