Just perfect - smooth, delicious, not too sweet. The combination of vanilla and Cornish gorse with the rum is superb and very enjoyable. Great for sipping. In my opinion, this is a winner from Rock Distillery.
On the nose there is a pleasant, albeit faint vanilla aroma. Drank neat, your palate experiences both a slight warmth from the spice, combined with a sugary treat from the vanilla, resulting in a silky smooth rum that’s effortless to drink. When turned into a long drink, using Coca-Cola as the mixer of choice, the coke neither improves nor impairs. However what does seem to happen, when you mix this rum with coke and ice, is that it ends up tasting a wee bit like Admiral’s Old J Spiced, but not quite as good. Even so, if you’re a fan of their Vanilla rum, then you should definitely buy a bottle of this.
Well, I usually order old mother hunts golden rum, but it was out of stock, so I ordered the Cornish vanilla rum ( the clue is in the name) so sweet, so I am going to use it to marinate some sultanas, for ice cream ,my wife, who doesn’t like spirits actually likes this, but I will not mark it down, it does what it says on the package, my fault, will wait for old mother Hunt to come back into stock
Bought in Cornwall. Refill from mom, twice. Smooth and delicious, not too sweet for my wife, who doesn't like sweet drinks. So all in all, a winner.
