Edition No.21B of the Rum Sponge series from Decadent Drinks is a 22 year old rum from Jamaica's Clarendon Distillery. After distillation at Clarendon in 2000 it spent its entire time in a refill rum barrel, enjoying some continental ageing. Only 146 bottles of this exist, all at a naturally approachable cask strength of 44.3% ABV.
A softer side of Clarendon, this is an aromatically detailed and complex Jamaican with wormwood, soft medicinal ointments, dried mint and aniseed on the nose, with a rush of sharp coastal freshness and gherkins on the palate.
