What if we told you that you could taste the centre of the galaxy? Don't believe us? Well, around a decade ago scientists (yes, actual scientists) peeked through a massive telescope at a vast dust cloud in the middle of the Milky Way, and came across a particular ester which happens to be responsible for the taste of raspberries, as well as smelling of rum! It wasn't what they were looking for, but we're sure glad that they found it, otherwise we wouldn't have Central Galactic Spiced Rum.
The creative folks behind this expression took note of the findings and decided to recreate those flavours in a bottle. To a base of aromatic Caribbean spiced rum, they added pot-distilled fresh raspberry distillate, as well as star anise (Geddit? Star anise?) and cold-distilled lime peel (OK, that one has nothing to do with space, but it does add an extra zing of citrus). An absolutely stellar bottling.
We promise to stop making space puns now.
Suitably spicy boasting heaps of ginger, cinnamon and cardamom, with oily orange peel and a lick of liquorice in support. Top notes of tantalisingly juicy raspberry sweetness keep it vibrant.
Sweet, fruity raspberry hits the back palate while those tingling spices return bringing warmth, with orange marmalade (without the bits) alongside a sprinkling of rich brown sugar and toffee notes.
Raspberry jam lingers alongside zingy lime peel and cinnamon, with a scattering of vanilla pod.

Wow I’ve ordered a lot of rum from this site and I’ve got to say this is the most disappointing one yet. It tastes like bad medicine with raspberry after tones. Weird.
I usually drink a more plain black rum like Kraken and Dark Matter, but I'll quite happily drink anything, I've never been a huge fan of fruity or sweet rums but I get a slight nicer bottle for the festive season and the story about taking the flavour from the center of the universe intrigued me, definitely one of the better rums I've had recently, it goes well with just about anything fruit flavoured, I tried it straight and the star anise is a bit too prevalent for my taste but if you like licorice you'd probably love it, currently drinking it with a sparkling mixed berry juice as I'm writing this and it's a fantastic sipping drink for procrastinating an essay. 100% would recommend to any gin drinkers and anyone who likes a sweeter drink
I find this has a strong raspberry taste which after a time leaves me struggling to finish the drink, however I gave it to a friend that very much enjoyed it!
I think it supports citrus cocktails beautifully (We had daiquiris). Anise-heavy. Raspberry lingers for a long time. The packaging artwork matches the flavour: bold, but recognisable. Apart from the licorice-y flavour, which is lovely, it loses a mark for tasting slightly standard for a spiced rum.
Excellent
