Nose: Pretty punchy from the off with soft leather cushioned by stewed, estery stone fruits before hefty charred oak and a hint of furniture polish creep in. Creamy vanilla and a touch of spicy nutmeg eventually rise from the depths.
Palate: Thick treacle and burnt brown sugar with tingles of clove and woody spice emerging, but not taking over. Old oak and a touch of bitterness lead to a hearty warmth, with candied orange peels and old leather.
Finish: A pungent, long finish, with soft rubbery oak and slight kitchen spice bitterness, along with pithy orange. Charred herbs and peppery spice. Drying oak and cigar box linger.
