Boukman Botanical Rhum is made in Haiti, with sugar cane juice distilled from sugar cane grown in Croix des Bouquets and around Cap-Haitien. It's also infused with a selection of botanicals, including native woods and barks, allspice, bitter almond, clove, cinnamon, orange peel and vanilla. It was named after Dutty Boukman, who launched the Haitian Revolution in 1791. The rhum's producers reinvest in programs to help Haiti's sugar cane communities, and works with the registered non-profit Haiti Futur to help its efforts transforming education in Haiti with its digital classroom program.
Enjoyably woody, with hints of cinnamon, cut grass, pink peppercorn and zesty citrus coming through, carried on a soft mouth feel.
