Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

The nose is fresh and perfumed with notes of oak and peels, a little syrup with a fennel note. The palate is sweet and rich with tropical fruits, peels and winter spice. The finish is gentle and luscious.

My Standard

I usually keep a couple of bottles handy and fill a decanter full when I stock up. Its my everyday sipping rum and the bar that I expect aged rums to meet if they are to be bought again. Nice oaky almost bourbon feel to it with good vanilla and fruit notes. great level of burn at the end while still smooth, lets you know your sipping rum not just flavoring.

Not a lot of experience...

... sipping rum, but this was delicious. Was over at a friend's place and he brought out the bottle and a glass - it's smooth and probably a little too tasty. Went out a couple of days later and grabbed my own bottle. Like I say, not an experienced sipper of rum, but I really liked this!

This is my first foray into the world of sipping rum. Bacardi 8 is quite a nice rum no burn when drinking neat in fact quite smooth. If you are looking for a rum to start with on the sipping rum side of things you won't go far wrong with a bottle of Bacardi 8
