A pintail is a kind of duck. For those who didn't know that, there's a helpful illustration of one on the label of this bottle of Port. It's a delicious Late Bottled Vintage (LBV). This means that it's from a particular year, like a 'proper' vintage Port, but aged in wood for four years to mellow it before bottling. The vintage in question, 2017, was particularly elegant meaning that this majors on fragrance without the heaviness that some people associate with Port. Try this with hard cheeses like manchego.
Very fresh fruit on the nose with damsons, black cherries, and woody rosemary notes. The tannins are soft and the palate has nutty, cherry pip flavour.
