This big and vibrant port with ripe notes of dark cherry, plum and damson. From the renowned Fonseca House, the wine is from an undeclared but very good vintage, 1996, hence the more moderate price point.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Dark, ripe fruits, cherry, plum, sloes. Notes of raspberry coulis and cherry and a faint touch of honey too.
Palate
Rich and fruity, nots of cherry pits, dark berry fruits, and sweet sugared citrus peel.
Finish
Good length that becomes sweetly citric.
Overall
An excellent, well-rounded port.
