This Los Siete Misterios Mezcal is made using the rare Karwinskii Agave, unlike other Agave plants this one looks more like a Yucca plant which has a trunk.
Mezcal is similar to Tequila although it tends to have a smoky aroma and flavour and unlike Tequila it is permitted to use a variety of Agave plants.
The nose opens with phenolic notes accompanied with salt and mint.
The palate is smoky and salty with deeper notes of green apples and boiled sweets.
A long, spicy and sweet finish with poached pears, cinnamon and nutmeg.
A smoky and salty mezcal with an excellent finish.
