Mezcal Advent Calendar Bottling Note

One agave-filled advent calendar is just not enough – last year Drinks by the Dram launched the Mezcal Advent Calendar, and it is back for 2017 by popular demand! Tap into your smoky side and count down to Christmas with 24 different mezcals, from blanco expressions all the way up to expertly matured oak-aged añejos. What’s not to love?

SPOILER ALERT! Here at Master of Malt, we love surprises. But if you really want to know the all-important drams hidden behind those windows you can click ‘Read More’ below. We’ve kept back some of the thrill though – the drams are listed in random order, so you’ll still be guessing every day throughout advent.

Mezcal Advent Calendar (2017 Edition) Reviews

Good Selection, Overall

Really good mezcals in this set, with just a few exceptions. (The two Zignum need removed.) Was nice to have different offerings from the same brands, in particular Los Siete and Del Maguey. If I was doing this again, I think I'd open them all up and make sure these were were on consecutive days for better comparison.

Very heavy on the blancos—only four were reposado or anejo. That being said, the blancos were in general very pleasant. The El Jolgorio Tobaziche alone was worth buying the whole calendar.
