A British Amaro from the Asterley Bros., based on recipes from the 17th century. 24 ingredients make up this enjoyably bitter treat, which can be enjoyed splashed in tonic water or perhaps in a G&T.
Bitter orange, burnt sugar and a kick of spice clove, before layers of chopped mint, rhubarb and earthy basil leaf.
Tried this at a tasting last week and it was fabulous. Well-balanced and very complex.
