Filliers' 50° 8 Year Old Bottling Note

An 8 year old jenever made using malt, rye and maize. After double still distillation it is aged in American oak barrels and blended with selected juniper distillates. Bottled at 50% abv!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Sweet and fragrant rye and vanilla.

Palate Nutmeg and bitter caramel with hints of leather.

Finish Spicy with warming pepper.

Overall A high strength Belgian jenever that is also rather tasty.

Reviews for Filliers' 50° (8 Year Old) Oude Graanjenever
Enjoyable and heavy
The nose is heavy on rye in a way that makes the drink welcoming. This Jenever gets better as it mellows in the glass and is less sharp. It certainly is spicy and warming. I won't lie the heaviness of the alcohol is noticeable. Then again it's Fillier's 50, so yo know what you're getting and what to expect.

Excellent jenever
We purchased this one at the jenever museum. Despite its 50° it is very smooth and tasty almoust like a single malt.

How?!?
8 years old, 50% ABV, and it's on the shelf at £40? Look at this, ye gin distillers of England, and repent. REPENT!
