Hailing from the Sauerland mountain range in rural Germany comes Woodland Sauerland Dry Gin. It's made with native botanicals, including hand-picked sorrel, spruce tops, nettles and dandelion root, so it's pretty fresh. We reckon its earthy, leafy flavour profile would work pretty well in a Negroni, or just a simple Martini.
Fairly woody, supported by piney juniper, fragrant citrus, green apple skin and a rich, roasted coffee-like undertone.
A talented bartender in Hamburg, Germany served me a gin & tonic with Woodland, Fever Tree and a slice of lemon -- fabulous cocktail! I eagerly await this gin's availability in the United States.
