Two Birds has smashed it with yet another flavourful release, with this pink expression showcasing Pink Grapefruit & Pomegranate! The fruit has been infused into the gin, hence the colour, bursting with juicy pomegranate and zesty citrus, all while being backed up by a core of juniper. Should do well in a spritz, and certainly garnish this one with a hefty wedge of pink grapefruit.
Juniper initially, running alongside bittersweet grapefruit citrus and juicy pomegranate sweetness.
Very sweet, syrupy, almost like a liqueur. The flavours work together but way too much sugar. Obviously hiding the harsh alcohol as there’s not much Gin coming through either. The flavouring will be from a concentrate, not by infusion as stated, which could also explain it being over sweet. I’ve tried this combination from another company without any added sugars and it seems to work better & it retains more of the Gin flavour. Nice try, interesting flavour & could be better if less sugar. Unless you’re a gin liqueur lover & not a gin lover.
