Thomas Dakin

Made with eleven botanicals including juniper, orange peel, English coriander, angelica, cubeb pepper and liquorice as well as "a hint of red cole" aka horseradish! It's named after Thomas Dakin, who began producing gin in Warrington in the second half of the 18th century, founding what would later become Greenall's. He was a pioneer who made gin of a surprising quality for the day, and who is rightly celebrated.

My favourite gin. Definitely a distinctive taste. Very refreshing in a gin and tonic, with a “masculine” taste, not at all flowery.
Had it bought as a Christmas present, obviously the person that gave it to me has a grudge. I have never in my long life tasted anything so disgusting! Was thinking of infusing it, but think it would be a waste of Raspberries, could work as sink unblocker because that's where it's going!
I have tried many gins over the last few years, but this is always my go to, the flavours are fantastic citrus base and the liquorice notes really do come through, I highly recommend this gin, I always have a bottle in the house and its what I order as a g&t if I am in bar....fantastic!!
Got this only as I was in Manchester and always try bring something local home. Wasn't expecting anything special but I was very wrong. This is my new favourite gin. incredibly smooth with citrus notes. goes really well with both Clementine and elder flower tonic or perfectly with any normal tonic. This doesn't need any garnish!
Beware you may get hooked! Smells like gin and tastes like gin with loads of juniper overlying all. Makes a lovely G&T. The only drawback of drinking this moreish masterpiece is that ever after most competitors taste diluted in comparison. It's a small batch gin, even so small variations in the intensity of the flavours would not account for the poor reviews. I can only assume that they were posted by Mancunian haters.
