The Oxford Artisan Distillery has given its delicious Organic Dry Gin a snazzy new bottle! It's distilled from local rye grown just 50 miles from the site in handmade, purpose built stills. With a trio of citrus peels and meadowsweet among the botanicals, expect heaps of juniper, rye spice and citrus in here.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Dense pine leaves, fresh coriander and a touch of aromatic cardamom rise over sprightly juniper and tangerine pulp.

Palate Toasted peppercorn leads before zesty orange rind develops in this juniper-led gin. Syrupy anise and warm menthol provide a smooth underlay.

Finish Sumptuously long and deep, the syrupiness lingers on the edge of your tongue, while fragrant cardamom and orange oil fade dutifully.

Opposite of refreshing
I don't know why I hated this, but I did. I love gin: I love juniper, I love citrus - but this is nearly undrinkable to me. Perhaps unusually for shoppers on this site, I have no taste for whiskey, and I think this shares something with whiskey that I hate, but don't know how to name. Perhaps it's the rye (though I love eating rye), but whatever it is, it's not for me! Don't assume you'll like this if you like other dry gins.

Really good gin, gin. Loads of flavour with subtle undertones.

Really good. Bought another bottle while it's still on offer.
I keep trying new gins, although I thought I might have made a mistake with this one. I'd pressed the 'buy' button without realising this was rye based. Having had really poor rye based gins in the past, this one came as a complete surprise. It's top stuff. Good in a GT and just as good neat. I prefer the traditional London dry gins on the whole, so if you're the same, you'll like this.
