That Boutique-y Gin Company makes its Vintage Pu-erh Tea Gin with the eponymous fermented tea that has been aged up to 35 years! They use a combination of hot and cold infusion techniques to accurately acquire the flavours from the tea. The label features stacks upon stacks of Pu-erh tea cakes (nothing like the tea cakes you put butter and jam on).
Soft caramelised orange, blackberry and lemon curd emerge through earthy juniper, vanilla sweetness and a good helping of herbal tea leaves. There’s tart berry fruit, just a hint of sherry cinnamon and plenty of nutmeg as the nose develops.
A huge green tea explosion defines the palate. Cherry blossom, caramel and a touch of juniper emerge through the tea-based core, alongside a prickle of baking spice.
More herbaceous tea and little honey remains.
All the comfort of a good cup of tea is paired with plenty of interesting gin notes in this expression. We can’t wait to see the cocktails people make with this.

A fine gin from the Atom guys. Lots of big peppery tea on the nose crisp tartness in the mouth. Think drumshanbo but better. The taste is still strong enough to cut through the tonic. If it sounds appealing to you get it, you won't regret this one.
