A gin made solely with botanicals that have been sent to space? Yeah, go on then! Juniper, coriander, cubeb pepper, fresh lemon peel, chamomile flowers, cardamom, dried bitter orange peel, cinnamon, liquorice root and angelica were all sent into the stratosphere at an altitude of at least 20km where they were exposed to extremely low pressures (after 18 or 19km the pressure is already so low that water and fluids in the body boil at body temperature!). Oh yeah, That Boutique-y Gin Company also used moon rock from a lunar meteorite as a botanical, because why not?! An unspeakably cool gin for anyone who ever dreamt of being a space explorer as a kid, or enjoys looking up at the stars, or simply loves gin!
Batch 2 is a release of 2,200 bottles.
Candied peels, starfruit, warming jupiter, no wait juniper, and lemon thyme.
Cassia and black pepper. Rounded citrus flesh sweetness, with a subtle savoury edge.
A touch of lemon sherbet, but it doesn't make things overly sweet as it's balanced by the coriander seed and notes of ginger beer and grapefruit.
Out of this world!
My favourite gin.
Very pretentious gin. Nothing special at all - except that fact you can talk about it being in space.
I ABSOLUTELY love this gin! I bought it because obviously, it's been in space(!) but was also different than high street brands. I can't taste the moon rock ? But it's a great talking point. I have to say I think this is my favourite ever gin. It's so fresh and citrusy, I pair it with fever tree tonic and lemon. 10/10.
Which tonic would you recommend to get the best out of this gin?
Now that Advent is over, I can say this is easily my favorite gin from the gin calendar. Far and away it stands out as bright, botanical and smooth. I'd already added it to my Buy list before I even knew they sent it to space, which is silly but pretty awesome.
