Here we have another of That Boutique-y Gin Company's Olfactor-y range, a collaboration with fragrance specialist Lizzie Ostrom of Odette Toilette. Inspired by the scents of the forest, Beware of the Woods Gin takes you on a journey deep into the primordial forest with its herby and citrus botanicals. If you look carefully on the label through the mysterious fog, an ode to Odette Toilette has been carved on a tree trunk. Beware of the Big Bad Gin.
There’s fresh, alfresco pine needles and bright juniper, with a good whack of citrus from baked lemon slices. Touches of candied peel and chalky Love Hearts develop.
Cardamom and cinnamon bring aromatic spice that cuts through lemon mousse, piney juniper and a soft floral undertone. There’s a helping of pleasant bitterness from pink grapefruit there too.
The juniper becomes spicier and drying among some more creamy lemon notes.
A very tasty tipple with exciting cocktail potential. Beware of the Woods, but not this delightful gin!
