Aye Gin (That Boutique-y Gin Company)
To make this marvellous creation, That Boutique-y Gin Company combined copper pot still gin with Scotch whisky that has been aged and since re-distilled under vacuum. It's then combined with distillates from Christmas cake, walnut, raisin, orange peel, cinnamon and clove - flavours that whisky fans ought to be very familiar with. Makes a brilliant Negroni, this one.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Bright and decedantly floral, with angelica, orange blossom and a hint of honeysuckle. Juniper, aromatic cinnamon and lemon thyme.
Palate
Lemon sherbet, bergamot and ginger beer initially, followed by more angelica, earthy vanilla and a suggestion of star anise.
Finish
Grapefruit peel and gingerbread linger.
