Sorry about this...

Strathearn Heather Rose Bottling Note

From Scotland's first micro-distillery comes the Strathearn Heather Rose Gin, featuring the sweet, vibrantly floral combination of classic Scottish heather and delicate rose. An excellent Summer tipple when splashed in a G&T.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Richly perfumed (as you might expect from the name). Subtle sweetness of honey and almond. Soft rye spiciness.

Palate: Vanilla, rose petal jam, rounded juniper and light hints of redcurrant.

Finish: Delicately floral on the finish, supported by more vanilla and nutty chocolate.

Strathearn Heather Rose Gin Reviews

I first tried this at the Ranoch moor hotel served with a slice of orange. Love love love it! Definitely my favourite gin!

A lovely drink, IMO best served with Fever-tree Mediterranean light tonic, for a night by the fire.

Beautifully smooth with lovely soft, but subtly spicy overtones. I think this is now my new favourite gin!! 😘

Like drinking perfume

I’m a big fan of spicy, big flavoured gins. I also love floral notes - one of my favourite cocktails features crème de violette but sadly, I found this pretty much undrinkable. There was, to me at least, an overpowering, almost lavender taste (which I assume was the heather?), which almost number the back of my tongue. I tried to give it to a friend but he wasn’t keen either.

A champagne of a celebratory gin.

One to drink from a champagne flute, with an added equal measure of Premium tonic – which turns the colour from peaty gold to rose gold. With its notes of rose petals, vanilla, honey, almond and a hint of chocolate, it would also be good served with an equal measure of Luscombe Damascene Rose Bubbly. Begs for a hibiscus flower garnish. One to toast the betrothed, the beloved, and the best in life.

Gorgeous but only add ice and good tonic water.

My absolute favourite gin but don't add lemon or lime. Treated myself to a bottle but my family keep trying it!

Delicate and Floral

I bought this as one of a tasting set. I agree with all the previous reviews. This is truly a light, floral, easy to drink summer gin. It's just not to my taste. My preference is for a more robust tipple with more pronounced botanicals.

The champagne of gin ,heavanly taste ,on the rocks or with tonic water

This is the champagne of gins and is a delight to drink on the rocks or with fever tree diet and lime , the bouquet of herbs would drive a botanist insane with desire . Totally hooked and glad to have met it while on a gin challenge.

Loved it when I first trieď it in my daughter's restaurant in Dundee and was delighted when she presented me with a bottle for Christmas. Only problem is that it seems to 'evaporate' rapidly!!

A fan of Scottish gins

I sniffed this gin, Heather Rose, at Dundee Flower Show this year and fell in love. But it can be hard to find to buy. Worth the hunt though. Ranks with a very favoured few such as The Botanist and Rock Rose. Well done Blairmore Farm.

Love at First Sniff

The name of the gin had me curious, a mix of two of my favorite fragrances in a gin? Surely, it had to be tried at the least. It arrived, too early for gin o'clock so had a sniff and knew it would be gorgeous was" Stick it in the freezer for a lovely, chilled and amazing post dinner aperitif, mix it up with a bit of quality tonic (Fever Tree for example) and it's hard to go back to your usual G&T. Amazing.

Love this!

Tried it at Stirling Farmer's Market and bought a bottle for my daughter in the hope she would share. No chance. Will have to buy my own bottle!

Absolutely heavenly - quite floral and aromatic but with a light touch.

Most glamorous gorgeous gin I have ever consumed. Heaven x Mary B

14th December 2014

This gin is great served straight up with ice. Too nice to mess around with. The flavours would be lost if served with tonic in my opinion.
