St. Giles Gin is the brainchild of Simon Melton, professional diver (and now gin composer), along with the help of head distiller Pete Margree and Anna, their copper still. They use a combination of 11 botanicals to create their desired flavour profile, including lemongrass, Grains of Paradise and rose petals.
Peppery juniper leads the charge, joined by fragrant hints of orange zest and earthy/floral elements on the mid-palate.
On to my umpteenth bottle of this gin..it’s truly wonderful on the palette. The botanics and smoothness are truly exquisite. Having been a gin drinker for thirty plus years, I am well positioned to comment. I’m amazed to see a few one star ratings for this product…I can only guess that these people are not accustomed to class, and lack a sophisticated palate.
Very floral with a raw finish. I went with grapefruit for a slice, but after reading reviews, orange may of been better. Shame, I've had smoother for less money.
This is a crisp refreshing gin a delight to drink. Do not use a cheap sweet tonic.
Overly perfumed, reminds me of purple violet sweets. Not for me, didn't finish my drink.
I bought this after reviewing the "spirit masters awards" This gin is a fantastic refreshing gin, oooozing with delicate flavour and a wonderful crisp finish. I tried this with a slice of orange ice and very a little tonic, do not drown this taste! One of the best gins. thinking of trying others in the range, but can not imagine how they could be better?
