Snowdonia Spirit Co.
Bara Brith Gin is a liquid love letter to the traditional Welsh tea loaf, and it's made with dried fruit, black tea and spices, along with juniper, of course. Awesomely aromatic stuff, this. The Snowdonia Spirit Co. has created a fantastic, fragrant gin, though we are generally big fans of regional baked goods, so we are somewhat biased.
Warming wafts of good tea and soft spices, carried on crisp notes of juniper, runny honey, sultana and a touch of citrus.
This Bara Brith Gin just picked up silver medal in the 2021 Spirits Business Blind Tasting awards .. now these guys know a thing or two about gin.. what could be a better recommendation !
I received a Christmas gift pack of 3 of the gins made by Snowdonia Spirit Co, very impressed with them all. The Welsh Dry Gin has a very soft flavour, very easy drinking and I use Fever Tree Indian and light mixer. The Bara Brith is quite remarkable in that it is for sure a gin and yet the flavours of dried Fruit, ginger and spice make it something else, had this with light ginger ale and the LoveSpoon Wild Fruit Berries is just that , not sweetened like other fruit gins but a lovely blend of raspberry and blackberries and good with most mixers... all round they are just very very nice !
Love this Bara Brith Gin .. a gin first I believe .. a beautiful expression of the unique recipe of the Welsh tea loaf and a recipe that lends it’s self very much to a spirit version. Dried fruits, aromas of sweet orange and spice and subtle background flavours of tea all contribute to this new Welsh gin, distilled in the heart of Wales. The label is quite special too. Renowned environmental landscape artist Alan Rankle has created a special painting for the reverse of the Bara Brith Gin label. Alan’s interpretation of the Welsh landscape is evocative and wild and is part of a series of paintings commissioned by the Snowdonia Spirit Co to adorn their gin labels.
