Sloane's Dry Gin 70cl
Sloane's
Sloane's Dry Gin
A lovely little dry gin made by Sloane's in the Netherlands. It is named after the 18th century botanist Sir Hans Sloane, who is said to have discovered many of the plants used to flavour gins today. A hearty handful of those botanicals have gone into Sloane's gin, including iris root, coriander, angelica root, cardamom pods, liquorice root and whole vanilla beans. Rather interestingly, Sloane's individually distill each of these botanicals for their gin, resulting in a unique flavour profile that seduces the palate.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Peppery at first. Spicy fennel and juniper berries come through.
Palate
Sweet citrus peels and vanilla ice cream from the whole vanilla beans in the botanical selection. Herbal at times. The strong juniper centre holds Sloane's together.
Finish
The finish doesn't last long, but the floral, woody notes are lovely while they last.
Overall
Lots of great flavours to mull over from Sloane's, especially lively on the palate.
