Description

Produced in the workshop previously used by the late, great Michael Jackson (whisky writer, not Moonwalker), this super-small-batch artisinal gin is flavoured with restraint, making it easier for the natural quality of the spirit to shine through. Distilled in a marvellously compact pot/column still combo named Prudence, Sipsmith epitomises distilling on a truly artisanal scale. At the time of her installation, Prudence was the first copper pot still to be brought to life in London for over 200 years.

Nose

Orange sherbet, rounded juniper warmth, fragrant grassy herbs.

Palate

Juniper builds on the palate, with subtly spicy flashes throughout, mellowed by creamy citrus.

Finish

Well-balanced on the finish, with drying juniper and tangy lemon.

IS THIS GIN

I found none of the flavours or aromas I would expect in gin in this beverage. It might as well be an inexpensive vodka

Good quality gin but maybe lacking in character

This is a good quality gin - very smooth and enjoyable but for me it didn't really stand out compared to other gins - which I suppose means it's very well balanced. I'd order it in a bar but I probably wouldn't buy a bottle for home again.
