A superbly flavoursome gin here from Salcombe Distilling Co., independently bottled by That Boutique-y Gin Company! There's plenty going on here with this one – at its heart, it's a pink gin produced at the distillery in Salcombe using a bespoke recipe featuring the likes of sloes, damsons, rose, orange peel, and more. After distillation, the gin is left to age in a specially selected 1997 vintage Niepoort Colheita tawny Port cask, introducing yet more richness and dark fruit notes. This should be brilliant served over lots of ice with a good tonic, lemon peel, and a few fresh raspberries.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Fragrant and fruity with plum and orange oil. A solid core of juniper brings balance and subtle spiciness.
Palate
Plump raisin, drying oaky warmth, delicately floral at points, with some earthy citrus hints along the way.
Finish
A hint of wine richness and zesty fruit brightness, with a final flash of oily juniper.
