The first gin from Japan's legendary Suntory - Roku Gin. This expression is made using a selection of botanicals, including six Japanese botanicals that provide a whistle-stop tour of the four seasons. These include sakura leaf and sakura flower for spring, sencha tea and gyokuro tea for summer, sansho pepper for autumn and yuzu peel for winter. Traditional gin botanicals also featured include the likes of juniper, orange peel, lemon peel, coriander and cinnamon, among others.
Earthy and vegetal, with a light whisper of fruity sweetness hiding underneath. Peppery notes develop on the finish.

Outstanding!!

Outstanding, light and mellow at the same time. Japanese botanicals very intense and different. Thought might be too floral. But not so. Very delicate and now a favourite over The Botanist.

Just tasted this for the first time, what a flavour explosion! Absolutely full of fresh zinginess and with a beautifully dry and peppery finish just inviting you back for another sip. My new favourite by a country mile.

I have enjoyed many gins, Hendricks, blue sapphire, Gilbert’s,Tanqueray to name a few but when I was introduced to Roku my palate woke up. This gin is full of botanicals, has a fresh clean taste and I can even, if I want to have it straight. I have one bottle left which I am keeping for later while finishing up all the other gins.

Best gin we have ever had. Makes other top brands lot second rate!

Simply superb from the magnificent Suntory company. A very pleasant surprise on the pallet.

I was drinking Bombay Sapphire but I've been to Japan and I wanted to taste how they interpret gin. It is smooth and wonderful! It's infused with Japanese botanicals, and doesn't have a strong juniper flavor, which was the element that I didn't care for in gin. I'm not a martini drinker, but this is delicious in limeade, Limonata or tonic. I just bought our third bottle.

great strong gin taste. My favourite one so far and i have drunk a lot of gin.

best gin I’ve ever tasted! not an experienced drinker, but I know good stuff when I taste it, and this I think, just became my favourite drink!

Best Gin I have ever tasted. (Only one man's opinion). Remembering that everyone has their own tastes. I put it up there with CIROC Vodka, both very smooth and refreshing taste - both these spirits are the best.

This is an odd one. Not as fruity or floral as you you would expect, but divine none the less. Clean, yet somewhat earthy and full bodied with just the slightest hint of fruit and spice on the after taste. Not one to be paired with Fentimans yuzu tonic as I find this overly sweetens the experience. My go to mixers are white peach and jasmine soda or pomelo and pink pepper tonic, both from The London Essence Co.

BEAUTIFUL. Received it as a gift from a special friend, only problem was the bottle was empty before I knew it
11th June 2019
Amazing! It’s very smooth and has an amazing distinct taste and smell. Doesn’t leave an aftertaste

Absolutely stunning gin. Tried it one week ago for the 1st time. No looking back. 👍👍👍

Love it change from all the sweet flavours that have appeared lately. Tastes like a proper gin and not an alcho pop love the delicate peppery undertones

Suntory's frst gin, eh? Encore! And keep doing it until you get it right. All I detected with this was a nondescript bouquet of chemical essence and a harsh flavour of pure alcohol that could only be tamed with the amount of ice a polar bear could live on. To me, a gin is genuinely bad if I'd rather be drinking Gordon's, and Roku certainly fits that label.

Amazing Gin! Love it the taste is fantastic !

Great gin and even better with Fentimans oriental yuzu tonic
13th March 2019
A VERY nice gin! I never tried much other than Gilbay's gin... and lately Tanqueray no10, who was an eyeopener to the world of wonderful gin, tried Raku gin yesterday...and wow!!! A big MUST HAVE!!!

Aromatic, uniquely spiced and smooth. Two years of exploring different gin, and this one’s in my top 3. Can’t get over how good it smells + tastes.
2nd February 2019
Probably the best gin I've tasted, which has a unique flavour. Perfection.

Beautiful dry crisp non fussy gin, perfect!
29th December 2018
Suntory first distilled gin in 1936. Their experience is enhanced by the delightful addition of the six delicate flavours. They add a sweet aftertaste.

Thoroughly enjoyed.

Pleasing aroma, goes down smooth and warms up well.
20th November 2018
Kept in the ice box and then sipped from an iced glass. Sublime. Some other flavors here that take it to another level. Suggest adding dash of water and some orange bitters. Tonic water will smother it in a G'n'T.
4th November 2018
Absolute perfection. Best gin I’ve ever had. Sancho pepper is a great addition.
22nd October 2018
Absolute perfection. Nothing lacking. I thing needed. Just a perfect gin.
Liquid Trix cereal in a bottle! Very good. SMOOOOOTH! :)
19th October 2018
Wonderful flavours and finish. Perfect with red berries
5th October 2018
Very smooth and delicious. Even hubby who's not that into gin enjoys this one. Initially bought it because of the beautiful and luxurious bottle but will buy again for the taste!
2nd October 2018
One of my favourites in fact I can't think of a better one. Even delicious neat.P.s. I'm not a big fan of fever tree, I prefer gin with the good old fashion Schweppes.
29th September 2018
Really lovely original citrus taste to this Gin. Makes it stand out from the crowded market.

It's the best. A beautiful gin with gorgeous flavour. Great with Fevertree tonic
14th August 2018
Tried this at the pump house in Bristol, fabulous gin! I was so pleased to see it at Waitrose. Superbly simple, not too floral (although I do like some floral gins too). Absolutely lip smackingly delicious. Expensive but worth it! Don’t hesitate, buy yourself a bottle, kick back and enjoy...
4th August 2018
First time, love it
23rd July 2018
Sakura floral and citrus at the start (although wasn't distinctly Yuzu). What struck me the most were the distinct Sencha finish. Beautiful with tonic
1st June 2018
Also bought on a whim much like another reviewer. I can say that for a Gin with such a complex flavour profile it is very drinkable. Strong citrus notes. Doesn't feel overly complicated, and perfect for a sunny afternoon.
19th May 2018
Tried for first time. As a mixer used a "Japanese" tonic water (available in UK) . A really excellent effort by Suntory, strong citrus on initial taste (Yuzu) and a lovely refreshing peppery finish. Could be a "go to" gin for mixing, but will of course need to do a lot more taste testing
25th April 2018
Bought this on a whim at Birmingham airport (duty free). I don’t usually drink straight gins, normally opting for a compound gin like Bathtub or a strong peppery flavour like Pink Pepper. However, I wish I could get hold of this in the UK as it is fantastic. I still prefer the aforementioned but I have to say it is better than most gins you can buy, even (dare I say it) Silent Pool which is my wife’s personal favourite (I love it too). Try it at least - I doubt you’ll regret it.
