Dr. Squid Gin Bottling Note
Dr. Squid Gin comes to us from the Pocketful of Stones Distillery in Penzance, which was made using a recipe that features real, no-foolin' squid ink! We squid you not! A rather savoury expression, with a coastal feeling to it, along with a few touches of citrus and spice. If that wasn't cool enough, it also turns bright pink when you mix it with tonic! It comes in a copper flask, engraved with all sorts of flora and fauna. It also looks like the eponymous Dr. Squid is on the label...

Bathtub Gin Navy-Strength
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose: Savoury kitchen herbs, balanced by fresh lemon zest and meadowsweet.
Palate: Citrus sits at the core, with woody juniper following. Subtly floral at points, and a touch of sea breeze sneaks in later on.
Finish: Spring blossom and pine.

Update on dog thievery and apology.
Errrr.... I wish I could edit previous review where I complained about the tin losing gin while pouring. When I went to bed last night I found a neatly packaged pouring spout on my bed. I can only assume that the dog (who helped open the parcel), nicked it and has now guiltily returned it hoping to be anonymous. Sorry MofM 🥺

Unusual and pretty yummy
I tend to like the unusual gins and quite often use the reviews to identify a good one. The review comparing this to the smell of a landrover's engine did it for me this time. I must confess I do get a hint of oily rag but I'm actually really enjoying it. It's really exciting watching it change colour when you put the tonic in, but maybe I'm just sad. However, the 'bottle' which appears to be a recycled Castrol GTX tin, is a bitch. I ended up with a puddle of gin round the top which would have been wasted if I hadn't had the presence of mind to slurp it out. It's lovely though, yum .

Yuck!
Well I’m not a gin drinker, I mostly drink bourbon and like an strong taste. This is the first Gin I have bought. I thought I’d give this a try will all the rave reviews. Master of Malt kindly gave me a free sample of Kyro Gin with my order and I had that first mixed with 1724 Tonic, loved that and then tried the Dr Squid Gin. It has a strangely familiar aroma, it always reminds me of working on my old Land Rover, its uncanny. Unfortunately to me it tastes like old EP90 gearbox oil. I don’t get it just tastes like old oil. Its not refreshing or fruity. Perhaps I put too much or too little in but it just reminds me of old garage workshops, cellulose paint and engine oil. I’m ordering more Kyro instead.

Best gin ever
Best gin I have tried! It's sweet and love that it changes colour. Shame I can't post a photo because the review alone doesn't do it justice
