Amontillado Cask Aged Gin 19 Month Old 2017 (Master of Malt)
Amontillado is the pinnacle for many sherry fans, developing intense character with age, including notes of nuts, orange peel, and sometimes sweeter notes of butterscotch. When a cask is emptied, there's plenty of that sherry goodness left behind, ready to be lapped up by whatever it's filled with next. We thought it'd be fun to stick some gin in a little octave cask that previously held amontillado, leaving it to rest for 19 months before releasing a total of 65 bottles for our exclusive Master of Malt collection.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Clove-studded orange and robust, piney juniper lead to creamier notes of lemon pudding. Floral tea rests beneath, alongside a fragrant sandalwood.
Palate
Resinous pine, rich oily juniper are softened by notes of toasted marzipan, with dried citrus, anise, and softly woody spice in tow.
Finish
Delicate notes of floral vanilla, hazelnuts, and a touch of buttery oak emerge among the bold botanicals and zest.
