An intriguing Japanese gin from the Masahiro distillery, known for making Awamori (a type of rice-based spirit) but now exploring the glory of juniper! Alongside the aforementioned juniper, the distillers in Okinawa have used guava leaves, long pepper, roselle (a type of hibiscus), goya (a type of melon) and shekwasha (a green citrus fruit native to Okinawa and Taiwan).
Sharp fruit sweetness tempered by earthy juniper and leafy hints. Citrus blossom keeps it fresh.
First of all, the most awkward taste is that Famous grouse/tequila after-taste. Besides that its a decent gin and you def dont need a slice of citrus with this. As with most japanese gins its very herby/floral. Probably wont buy it again cause it doesnt taste top shelf even tho the price tag gives that impression.

A very watery taste, its really not comparable to all other quality gins, really regret this purchase.
This Okinawa Gin is one of the best tasting gin’s I’ve tried and keep sipping (over ice) during these summer days. Very refreshing with some hints of citrus & sweetness coming from all the native Okinawa ingredients. If you’ve been to Okinawa you know the Okinawan’s take pride in their gastronomy & drinks. If you haven’t tried this gin, you are missing it. Let’s not fall for someone else’s taste buds to tell you they donuts like this gin. Let your taste buds and pallet do the tasting..
Love the exotic botanicals, wonderful for cocktails with other interesting fruits. I found some of the other reviews odd - maybe they are more into old school gin which is fine. Definitely new world style. Love it!
