Manly Spirits Co. Gin Bottling Note

Manly Spirits Co. was established in 2015 and is based near Manly Beach, Australia. This Australian dry gin was one of their first ventures, made with fabulous sustainably foraged Australian botanicals such as sea lettuce, finger lime and mountain pepperberry, alongside some more traditional gin botanicals. Serve with ice and a slice of fresh orange.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Earthy, savoury notes contrast with citrus and juniper, with eucalyptus and a pinch of pepper.

Full of flavours, light, good plain or mixed worth the money
When I first tasted this gin I didn't like it. It was salty and bitter. I must have been having an off day as I thought, at this price I'm not giving it away and tried it again. It's now my favourite gin!!! Its so light and refreshing but full of flavour but smooth and it goes well with plain tonic, flavoured tonics or in a cocktail. My favourite is a ginocolada - glass of ice, pour over 25mls (or 50mls) Manly gin, 2 tsps each of coconut and mango (or pineapple) syrups, bottle tonic and fresh pineapple and orange slices, relax and breathe in the flavours and it's easy to imagine sitting on a tropical beach with a cool breeze bringing the scents of paradise. (don't spoilt it with Prosecco though.)

Fresh, mellow and delightfully different!
We tried this gun for the first time at a gin & rum festival, it was so good we bought a bottle. Have not been disappointed, just add normal tonic and enjoy!
Have sampled many gins over the years and this one is right up there with the best. Expensive yes, but oh golly definitely worth the money. Fresh, interesting and delightfully mellow all at the same time. You need to try it to savour the unusual flavour. We love it and are about to purchase our second bottle.

Manly Spirits gin
August’s Craft Gin Club offering. The bottle is flipping hellish. It’s light blue clear at the top and embossed at the bottom with a geet big whopping silver stopper. The gin is 43% with a citrus taste initially that turns quite sweet. The Australian gin certainly hits the spot as a ‘get home from work and relax’ tipple. Apparently, it has sea lettuce and finger lime in it’s botanical's. Heck do I know what they are

Not for me
This gin is pretty grim. It tastes and smells like cheap aftershave. I think it's an acquired taste and I definitely have not acquired it yet.

Honestly, my knees go weak every time I have a sip! Imagine closing your eyes & tasting the ocean, a fresh seafood picnic while sitting in the sun and all your friends beside you. Then you've got it! I first tried Manly Gin last year & it's completely won me over.

Doesn't get better than this - Gin from down under
Love this Gin. Well balanced and delicious with some really interesting botanicals in it that are not found in the UK.
