Port Cask-Aged Gin (Lost Parcels)
If the Lost Parcels range of bottlings had a theme song, it would be that song that was played at the end of probably more than a few '80s films where it goes "Don't you forget about me!", because it's whole deal is to make sure some superb spirits don't get lost in the march of time. This particular edition is a gin that has spent 19 months maturing in a first-fill Port cask, which has created a fascinating flavour profile that is well-worth your attention.
Yes, we have that song stuck in our head too.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Sweet juniper and angelica, before hints of dried strawberry and cherry Madeira cake appear.
Palate
Floral at first with citrus blossom and violet. Jammy berry notes develop, with a touch of red liquorice along the way.
Finish
Vanilla and honey, with some peppery spice lending a touch of warmth.
Overall
Port casks aren't just for whisky (and Port, obviously)!
