Another superb save by Lost Parcels, which bottles up small portions of splendid spirits that might have otherwise become lost in the dark corners of warehouses and forgotten forevermore. It might seem like a lot of effort for a small outturn, but how often do you get the chance to try a gin that's spent five whole years resting in an oloroso sherry cask?! Now is one of those rare and unusual opportunities.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Woody, resinous juniper leads the way, but then sweet baking spices develop, joined by prunes, liquorice, and a touch of pepper.
Palate
Sweet, buttery oak sweeps the palate before a wave of juniper, then caramel, soft stone fruits, cinnamon, and vanilla.
Finish
A balance of botanical spice and dried fruit, with candied orange and lemon peels, butterscotch, and hints of resinous pine.
