J.J. Whitley Violet Gin

Violet has become a particularly popular flavour within the world of gin, and J.J. Whitley have wasted no time joining in on the fun by launching their very own Violet Gin! The eponymous floral element is combined with a selection of eight additional botanicals along the lines of juniper, coriander, liquorice and angelica, and it boasts a pleasing pink hue.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Citrus blossom blends well with bright violet sweetness, bolstered by soft juniper and a hint of cassia spiciness.

Reviews for J.J. Whitley Violet Gin
The only good violet gin
Has the same taste mixed with lemonade (I use schweppes) as a genuine crushed parma violet powder sweet, absolutely delicious.
Other "violet" style drinks (Whitley Neil, Asda etc) taste too much like blue rasperrry (only) where this tastes like the actual sweets. Highly recommend!

Love it or hate it ( I love it )
A nostalgia inducing flavour of parma violet sweets, really works for me as a Gin. Some would say the taste is very synthetic, but I am unapologetically loving it. Excellent with Fever Tree tonic, or by itself with ice.

Cheap price, cheap ingredients the worst!
Possibly the worst gin I have ever had. I drink gin often and thought I would give it a try. On the first occasion I just drank a small amount of this only and had the most horrific hangover from it, was sick with the worst headache. I usually don't suffer from hangovers but this was a different level. I thought it must have just been me. A few months later it was on offer and I tried it again. I had again, just a few drinks of this, not mixing alcohol at all and I was sick until the next evening. I will never buy this brand again, I don't know what cheap stuff they put in it but its certainly not worth the aftermath. Better off paying the extra for a good quality gin you know won't make you feel awful. Avoid! I won't ever purchase this brand again, cheap price, cheap ingredients.

Love it!
I love this! I prefer infused gins and when I saw this on offer thought I would try. I really can taste the violets. Will be buying again.

Whitley’s violet gin
I absolutely love it! Brought a bottle back to the US where infused gin is nowhere to be found and I am not a fan of infused vodka which is big in the US.

Strong but OK with right mixer.
Like the flavour but it's really overpowering. Started by using half the amount of gin I normally have and sloshing a little more tonic in. However have since found it goes well with bitter lemon, which tones it down a little. Probably won't buy a refill myself but wouldn't be complaining if given as a gift.
