Hernö Juniper Cask Gin
We all know that juniper is fairly important when it comes to gin, similar to how words are important to books and marmalade is important to Paddington Bear. However, the Swedish artisan distillery Hernö have taken this a step further and created the Juniper Cask Gin, a gin that has been aged in barrels made from juniper wood, an exciting world first.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Fragrant pine, followed by lovely orange notes and wonderful juniper.
Palate
Thick and oozing. It starts off sweet, followed by more of that fresh pine, then back to sweet with some lively citrus.
Finish
A brilliantly long finish, rich with green juniper.
Overall
The perfect example of why aged gin is so cool.
