However, the Swedish artisan distillery Hernö have taken this a step further and created the Juniper Cask Gin, a gin that has been aged in barrels made from juniper wood, an exciting world first.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Fragrant pine, followed by lovely orange notes and wonderful juniper.

Palate: Thick and oozing. It starts off sweet, followed by more of that fresh pine, then back to sweet with some lively citrus.

Finish: A brilliantly long finish, rich with green juniper.

Overall: The perfect example of why aged gin is so cool.

On its own

Understand why it got gold in iwsc. Remarkable when drinking on its own or just with an ice cube. Tried it with Fevertree also. Great combination as long as not to much tonic is used. Recommended, /TC

wonderful and sublime

i tatsed this in a bar in Copenhagen a few months back in its natural state no ice, lemon or tonic) and it was very good. I had to wait until yessterday to buy a bottle in Stockholm = happy man!
