From Scotland's first micro-distillery comes the Strathearn Heather Rose Gin, featuring the sweet, vibrantly floral combination of classic Scottish heather and delicate rose. An excellent Summer tipple when splashed in a G&T.
Richly perfumed (as you might expect from the name). Subtle sweetness of honey and almond. Soft rye spiciness.
Vanilla, rose petal jam, rounded juniper and light hints of redcurrant.
Delicately floral on the finish, supported by more vanilla and nutty chocolate.
I first tried this at the Ranoch moor hotel served with a slice of orange. Love love love it! Definitely my favourite gin!
Beautifully smooth with lovely soft, but subtly spicy overtones. I think this is now my new favourite gin!! ?
I’m a big fan of spicy, big flavoured gins. I also love floral notes - one of my favourite cocktails features crème de violette but sadly, I found this pretty much undrinkable. There was, to me at least, an overpowering, almost lavender taste (which I assume was the heather?), which almost number the back of my tongue. I tried to give it to a friend but he wasn’t keen either.
One to drink from a champagne flute, with an added equal measure of Premium tonic – which turns the colour from peaty gold to rose gold. With its notes of rose petals, vanilla, honey, almond and a hint of chocolate, it would also be good served with an equal measure of Luscombe Damascene Rose Bubbly. Begs for a hibiscus flower garnish. One to toast the betrothed, the beloved, and the best in life.
Not quite what I was expecting.
