Happy Valley Distillery
Very intriguing gin from the Happy Valley distillery in Franschhoek, South Africa. Wildcraft Gin Equinox 79 is built around a base spirit made with triple-distilled chardonnay grapes, alongside nine botanicals - six of which are farm foraged! These include juniper, coriander, rosemary, eureka lemon rind, lavender and nasturtium.
Elegantly floral and aromatic, with just enough fruity citrus coming through to give it some sweetness.
Proper stuff. Unadulterated by elderflower, rhubarb or wasp pheromone flavouring. Kablammo! Definitely not for kids. I use mine to make a gin based Margarita which is a thing of beauty.
A wonderfully expressive Gin produced from distilled Chardonnay grapes. A new favourite!
Raw, unpleasant, underdeveloped taste, reminds me of 80-ies Yugoslavian slivovich. No resemblance to any other gin in this price range. Move on. Only positive is that the gin is available in 500ml bottles only.
