An artisan gin from a very small distiller based in the village of Dullingham in Cambridgeshire, made in a hand-beaten copper still called Merlin... no really it is.
Nose: Clean and herbal nose with a distinct sweetness. There are citrus notes too, particularly Seville oranges.
Palate: A creamy start with more orange flavours amid the juniper and coriander notes.
Finish: A dry finish after the original sweet entrance, with some acidity.
Overall: A fresh, clean tasting gin that offers something different to the big name brands.

First purchased at Hadleigh show in Suffolk 2yrs ago and absolutely loved it. Best gin ever. Gorgeous flavours unlike any other.

Utterly delicious. Very recognisable both with and without tonic.

I received my first bottle of Dr.J's Gin last week, upon strong recommendation from a friend.I've tried it both neat, with a good tonic, and also to make up a Negroni. I concur with another reviewer that this is not your average gin... it's unique flavour cuts both through the tonic and Negroni like no other gin I have tried. It certainly is less suited to the Negroni, however it's fast becoming a firm favourite with the tonic or by itself over nice and capers. I've still not worked out all the aromatics, am still finding different whiffs after working my way through half of the bottle.... I'll be ordering at least another before Christmas. As recommended by its distillers, capers make a great addition, don't drink neat or a G&T without them.A really good, interesting gin and certainly worth a try

Tried Dr J for the first time. Got the coriander but not the orange so much. Don't think Grand Marnier! Not that aromatic but certainly different. Give it a try. You cold love it.
