Dactari
A German gin with a base spirit made with a combination of grain and wine distillates, and featuring a selection of botanicals which include juniper, orange, lemon, liquorice, pepper, coriander and aniseed, among others. Very interesting bottle design, along with an interesting subtitle too gin's subtitle ("I dream of GINi", a reference to the 1970s sitcom I Dream of Jeannie).
Herbaceous juniper, complimented by the aniseed and coriander. Sweet citrus peels grow, alongside fruity grape and subtly oily nuttiness.
I don’t know why they are even mentioning Sambuca, wtf? This is a wonderfully fruity gin where I felt there was a strong orange (at least citrus) flavour, you can even drink it neat
Tried this in Germany and fell in love with it. Much better than a Sambuca (is this the 80s?!). Drink it strong with a splash of tonic.
Sambuca? What the hell did you drink before? It's a new Western Dry Gin, but very tasteful, mild and with traces of walnut, lemon and also anis and Mediterranean herbs. Maybe not everybodys darling, but worth 4 stars! And a brilliant packaging!
Absolutely disgusted at the price tag of this gin, you'd be better off getting a bottle of Sambuca for less than half the price. It taste off nothing other than v.mild juniper and aniseed, this one will be sat in the cupboard for a long time. Thankfully I received this as a gift, will stick to Sipsmith and Hendricks.
