City of London Rhubarb

Rhubarb and rose - a spectacular combo! This expression from the City of London Distillery boasts oodles of both, alongside some classic London gin botanicals to complement the floral and fruity deliciousness. The lovely pink bottle is definitely one for the front of the drinks cabinet.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Notes of sweet rhubarb and fragrant, delicate rose alongside a traditional base of classic London gin botanicals, most notably juniper.

Reviews for City of London Rhubarb & Rose Gin
No taste of rhubarb or rose
Was bought for me as a 60th birthday present
After struggling to open it - nearly gave up. I mixed it with some tonic and am well disappointed - no taste of rhubarb or rose !!! In fact it tastes the same as the gin I buy in Aldi’s for £9.99
So expensive as well

I bought this for the alleged flavour... love Rose and Rhubarb but sadly this tastes of neither

Disappointed
I wish I had read the reviews before I spent my money. I can't taste rose or rhubarb. Its a pretty ordinary gin in a pretty bottle and not even the best ordinary gin I've tasted.

Tonic is key!
What I would say is like all gin do your research! Tried with normal tonic but then looked at the suggested tonic - elderflower.
What a transformation - totally different proposition and whilst not overwhelming you get the rose and to a lesser degree the rhubarb. Give this gin a chance, you might be surprised.....

A poor choice, if you want taste and/or value
I would agree with the majority of people on here: there is no discernible taste of rhubarb or rose. I do not claim to be a professional-level taster, but I know my way around a drink or two and this is just a dry gin with a vague scent of rose. If you want dry gin, there is better for less; if you want a flavoured, it’s the same story. Very expensive for what it is too.

Lovely and Floral
This gin is lovely! If you’re a proper gin wanker like myself you’ll love it! Don’t read the below reviews they were obviously after a gin liquor which is sweet and sickly. Pair it with FeverTree Eldeflower Tonic and not cheap crap for a perfect drink. I have over 25 different gins and none of them under £35 a bottle. This is truely a gin snobs drink - not for the amateurs

More than disappointed
Disappointingly No hint of Rhubarb or Rose, bought from Sainsbury’s after coveting this for ages... expensive gin in a pretty bottle.

Poor product without the promised flavours
Bought this from my local Sainsbury. Very disappointed, not only does it have a very cheap stopper but as others have pointed out there is not any flavour of rhubarb or rose that I or others can detect! At least after a week someone responded to my comments but only in summary to mention that the flavour is intended to be subtle, it certainly is!! (not a mention of subtle on the bottle!!) Sainsbury apparently have no interest that they are selling a product which will likely disapoint a lot of customers but I'm sure that customers who don't like it will vote with their feet and never buy it again!
